What we collect
When you shorten a link, we store only the original URL and the generated short slug. No personal data is collected unless you create an account (email and password, stored securely via Supabase Auth). We do not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising.
P2P file transfers
Files transferred via lnks.is are sent directly between devices using WebRTC. Files never pass through or are stored on our servers. We temporarily store room codes and encrypted PIN codes to facilitate the connection, and these are automatically deleted after the session ends.
Language detection
We detect your preferred language from your browser settings (Accept-Language header) to show content in your language. This is standard HTTP behavior and does not involve any personal data collection, cookies, or tracking.
No tracking
lnks.is does not use third-party analytics, advertising cookies, social media trackers, or any form of user profiling. Basic click counts on short links are stored anonymously without identifying information.
Data retention
Anonymous short links expire after 48 hours and are automatically deleted. Authenticated users can create permanent links. Transfer sessions are deleted once the transfer is complete or after 24 hours of inactivity.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. If you have an account, you can delete it from your dashboard. For any privacy-related requests, contact us at privacy@lnks.is.
Data location
All data is stored in the EU (eu-central-1) via Supabase, ensuring compliance with European data protection regulations.
